Welcome to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations at Beeston Marina

 

We’re hosting a whole Bank Holiday Weekend of events and activities as part of the wider Beeston Community.

 

So come along and join in the fun!

Complimentary Weekend Visitor Moorings for those visiting by Boat (subject to availability).

Thursday 2nd June

Lighting of the Jubilee Beacon on the Banks of the River Trent

As part of over 1500 Beacons being lit across the Country, the Beeston Marina Beacon will be lit at 9.45pm

All welcome - Free Entry

Bar Snack and Drinks will be available from the Riverside Bar all evening.

Saturday 4rd June

Our famous WW2 Landing Craft will be giving trips on the River Trent from 12pm - 3pm

All sessions are now fully booked - there may be spaces available on the day; please enquire at the Riverside Bar.

Our famous WW2 Landing Craft will be giving Charity Trips on the River Trent from Beeston Marina upstream to Barton Island before returning to the Marina. 

​​

WW2 Landing Craft Trips on the River Trent. Experience a trip upstream on the River Trent aboard our famous WW2 Landing Craft. Each trip lasts up to 30 minutes, during which time you’ll get to take in the scenery along the Trent passing Attenborough Nature Reserve and Barton Island.

Proceeds are being donated to the Peter Le Merchant Trust https://www.peterlemarchanttrust.co.uk/ who are a local charity providing experiences afloat for young people, disabled and community groups. 

Whilst we aren’t charging for this experience, a suggested donation of between £5-£10 per person would be greatly appreciated and will be passed on to the Trust.

 

For those coming aboard, please wear sensible footwear and clothing. Arrive 10 minutes prior to your session and check-in at the Riverside Bar. If circumstances change and you’re unable to make it, please let us know.

Sunday 5th June

10.00am- 13.00pm Free Canoeing Taster sessions on the River Trent at Beeston Marina hosted by the 2nd Beeston Sea Scouts. All safety equipment and instruction is provided. Please bring suitable clothing. Minimum age is 6 years and all under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. Please note you may get wet so a spare change of clothing is advisable.

12.30pm Riverside Parade of Boats from Beeston Lock upstream on the River Trent before returning to the Riverside Bar. All Boaters welcome, bunting, flags decorating the boats encouraged. Meet in the Riverside Bar at 12.00pm

FREE CANOEING TASTER SESSIONS

If you’re looking to get on to the water this Summer, then put Sunday 5th June in to your diary.

​

As part of the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations down by the River at Beeston Marina, the 2nd Beeston Sea Scouts are hosting Canoeing Taster sessions for all ages.

​

The taster sessions are fully supervised and all safety equipment is provided. You’ll just need a pair of trainers, appropriate clothing and maybe a towel and change of clothing - just in case you get splashed.

​

The sessions are running from 10am-1pm on Sunday 5th June on the banks of the River Trent adjacent to Beeston Marina.

The minimum age for participation is 6 years, and all under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
